CD Projekt Red has started releasing official modding support tools for Cyberpunk 2077, paving the way for more complex PC version mods. The official Cyberpunk 2077 mod support page explains that it will offer “official tools and resources that will help you modify and create your own experiences in the world of Cyberpunk 2077”. These tools are currently quite limited, offering downloads of game metadata and two utilities for listing game data and settings. There is currently nothing for modders to easily unzip and edit game files, so this should be fine. seen as a first step on the road to official mods, rather than the start of a new influx. CDPR adds that “tools will be continually updated alongside game fixes to ensure compatibility.”
