Earlier today, we talked about the different nerves which are implemented in Destiny 2: Season of the Chosen ahead of Season 14 on the horizon. The reason behind the wide array of nerfs is that the studio is bringing a ton of new weapons and gear for the coming season, and the team is making preemptive changes to make sure those arrivals fit in perfectly. While we don’t even know a small portion of what’s in the works, Bungie has revealed Season 14’s new Iron Banner weapons to help ease the nerve-wracking more recent ones.
Iron Banner is slated to start one last time in Season of the Chosen on April 13 at 10 a.m. PT until April 20 at the same time. This will be the last Iron Banner before Season 14, so enter it if you still need to complete the Iron Sharpens Iron Seasonal Challenge. Saladin also offers great weekly bounties for leveling, especially for those trying to hit 1325 for Grandmaster Nightfalls.
As for the sequel, here’s our first look at the new weapons on the way for the upcoming season:
The Hand Cannon and Sniper Rifle, seen above, will be familiar to dedicated Guardians, but new weapons will also be added. “Our goals going forward are to continue to upgrade some Year 1 weapons with random casts, but also to bring new rewards into the fold when possible,” Bungie said in most recent update. “It always depends a bit on the resources we have available for a given season, but we are eagerly awaiting some new Iron Banner-themed tools for your arsenal.”
There will also be new armor in Iron Banner, but the studio isn’t ready to share that first look just yet as it won’t be ready to debut for a few more seasons.
I’m interested in seeing how the new weapons work, given the recent meta-changes. It’s nice to see a mix of returning favorites and new weapons. While I love that Bungie keeps bringing back familiar items, it gets a bit exhausting when returning gear takes priority over brand-new weapons and armor.
