Apples first laptops and desktops with its custom M1 processor inside have already proven to be quite powerful and efficient, but they are at their best with updated software to work natively on new hardware. Now Firefox joins Chromium by generally release an update that can take advantage of Apple Silicon.

According to Mozilla support, all you need to do is restart your browser and you will see it update to version 84. If you haven’t installed the Rosetta package for backward compatibility, do that too, as it is necessary to stream content from DRM services such as Netflix, Hulu, Disney +, or Amazon Prime Video. Based on their comparative analysis with the SpeedoMeter 2.0 test, the browser “launches more than 2.5 times faster and web applications are now twice as responsive”.
