TIM TSZYU AS WORLD TITLE ELIMINATOR
A win tonight will see Tim Tszyu fight for the WBO super welterweight world title next year.
The WBO broke the news earlier this week, with Tszyu to fight current champion Patrick Teixeira or Argentinian Brian Castano.
Teixeira and Castano have been ordered to fight for the belt, but Teixeira cannot get a visa to leave Brazil. If their match isn’t made by January 6, the WBO will remove Teixeira from the belt and Castano will fight Tszyu for the vacant title.
If Teixeira-Castano is done miraculously, Tszyu will likely face the winner later next year.
HOW MANY ROUNDS IS HUNT VS GALLEN
They will fight for six rounds of three minutes.
Gallen would have liked to go eight or ten, but was refused.
MARK HUNT BOXING REGISTRATION
Mark Hunt fought twice – both fights dated back over 20 years.
He recorded a loss and a draw, breaking his hand in the draw.
PAUL GALLEN BOXING RECORD
Paul Gallen is undefeated in 10 professional fights, holding a 9-0-1 record.
His lonely flaw was a contentious draw with former AFL star Barry Hall last November.
Gallen clinches victories over John Hopoate, Junior Paulo and Randall Rayment.
MARK HUNT AND PAUL GALLEN WARM UP AT PRESS CONFERENCE
Hunt and Gal were friends, but those days seem far away.
The pair of heavy hitters engaged in a heated argument during Monday’s press conference, hurling insults and threats.

MARK HUNT CALLS GALLEN AT “GRUB”
Tensions escalated with less than two weeks to go before the night of the fight.
Hunt and Gallen have been back and forth in the media and on social media, with Hunt calling Gal “food.”
MARK HUNT: I’M GOING TO BREAK HIS TEETH
Mark Hunt hasn’t fought for two years, but he’s adamant he’ll knock out Gallen on fight night.
Hunt’s last UFC appearance was in Adelaide in 2018, but the Super Samoan has been training most of the year and is in great shape.
“I’ve been punching people in the face for 20 years,” he said.
“Gallen is an athlete, but he preyed on people – I punched people in the face.”
Hunt, 46, predicts he will eliminate Gallen in the sixth round.
“IT IS NOT THE SAME TRADEMARK HUNT” – GALLEN
Gallen doesn’t believe the fighter who meets him in the ring is the same man who scored all those UFC knockouts.
“He won’t be able to get to me like he thinks he’s going to get to me and everyone thinks he’s going to get to me,” said Gallen.
PAUL GALLEN PLANS A KO WIN
Paul Gallen says he’s too fit and too quick for Hunt, predicting a knockout victory on December 16.
Hunt hasn’t fought for two years, with Gallen claiming he just had to weather the storm early to secure the victory.
MARK HUNT ANSWERS KO THREATS
A 20-year-old veteran in the fighting game, Hunt is not affected by Gallen’s threats.
After sitting ringside for Gallen’s draw with Barry Hall a year ago, the Super Samoan says Gal doesn’t offer much of a threat.
GALLEN QUESTIONS THE POWER OF KO HUNT
Paul Gallen doesn’t think Hunt still has the same knockout power he once had.
Hunt’s last knockout took place in 2017 when he stopped Derrick Lewis, and his last knockout took place a year earlier in Brisbane.
