How to catch fish in Valheim
Having bought a fishing rod and bait from Haldor the merchant, you are probably wondering how you can start fishing for your own food?
To start fishing in Valheim, head out to a river or the ocean and look for an area populated with fish. Fish are generally quite easy to spot when they are schooled underwater.Once you’ve found a spot to cast your line, hold down the left mouse button to reload your cast – the longer you hold, the longer your cast will be. After casting your line, keep a close eye on the area surrounding the bobber. If bubbles appear around your bobber, it will indicate that the fish are currently interested in your line.Once the bobber has dived underwater, quickly hold down the right mouse button to not only hook the fish, but also to begin the winding process. You will receive an in-game message saying “hooked” if you have successfully hooked a fish.As soon as you have rolled the fish close enough, you will be able to pick it up. Don’t wait too long, as there is still a chance that you will lose the hold, as turning over into a fish will exhaust your stamina and if your stamina is depleted, the fish will escape.
