DCEU fans will be able to catch Jared Leto’s Joker, complete with its new look, in Justice League by Zack Snyder when it airs on HBO Max starting March 18. But let’s not forget that Joker’s ex-squeeze Harley Quinn will be making his third movie appearance in James Gunn’s The suicide squad This summer, August 6. And Gunn can’t wait for us to see what actress Margot Robbie did with the role this time around. Responding to questions on Twitter, Gunn was asked which Suicide Squad character he was most excited about for viewers. His answer?

“It’s hard to pick one,” Gunn wrote, “but I can’t wait for people to see where Margot has been with Harley.”

“And Weasel is really something to see.”

The last time we saw Harley Quinn, in 2020’s Birds of Prey, she and Cassandra Cain sold the Bertinelli Diamond in order to start their own business. While nothing is confirmed, Gunn’s comments seem to suggest that Harley, perhaps, is going one step further. Whatever direction Robbie takes for the character, Gunn is delighted to be witnessed.

The Suicide Squad Who’s Who: full cast and character reveal

The new plot synopsis for The Suicide Squad, released by Warner Bros., mentions Corto Maltese’s war-torn nation as the film’s backdrop. Corto Maltese is a fictional island nation in the DC Universe, first appearing in 1986, The Dark Knight Returns # 3, and then referenced in several live-action DC projects over the years, including 1989’s Batman.

Gunn recently confirmed that The Suicide Squad is now “fully finished” and praised Warner Bros for not even slightly interfering with the movie.
