Hawthorn star Jonathon Patton has been dismissed from “all club engagements” as the Hawks investigate allegations of unsolicited sex messages to several women.
The Hawks were already investigating the complaints but released a statement Monday evening that they were taking further action.
“Hawthorn Football Club has removed Jonathon Patton from all club engagements until the completion of its investigation into the allegations of Patton’s inappropriate behavior on social media,” he said.
“The club’s integrity committee met this afternoon and will continue to gather all relevant information.
“The club will provide a further update upon completion of the investigation and request that the privacy of all parties involved be respected at this time.”
The 27-year-old has deleted his social media accounts.
The club were already investigating a complaint before two other women came forward in recent days to allege inappropriate messages from Patton.
