December 22, 2020 – More than 92,000 pounds of Lean Cuisine baked chicken dishes have been recalled because they may contain pieces of plastic, according to Nestle Prepared Foods.
The recall involves 8 5/8 oz (244 g) cardboard trays of “Lean Cuisine Baked Chicken, White Meat Chicken with Stuffing, Red Skin Mashed Potatoes and Gravy” that were produced and packaged September 2, 2020.
They carry the lot code 0246595911 and the “Best Before” date of October 2021 and have been shipped across the United States.
It is believed that the mashed potatoes in the meals contained pieces of white plastic from a conveyor belt that broke during production.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Inspection and Safety Service said it had not received any reports of injury or illness from the recalled meals. Consumers who have questions about the recall can contact NestlĂ© Prepared Foods at (800) 993-8625.
