It’s the Year of the Ox, and that means it’s time to ring in the Lunar New Year in Rocket leagueThe Lucky Lanterns in-game event! The annual event is live until March 1, so start taking on the event challenges and unlocking themed items. This year’s celebration brings new items and a beautiful new arena variant, Forbidden Temple (Day), featured in the Lucky Lanterns trailer above.
Complete event challenges and unlock new items like Lucky Cat and Ozzy Ox toppers, Lantern Lift and Cherry Blossom boosts, Temple Guardian player banner, and more! Plus, get lucky with the Golden Lanterns which unlock items from the Velocity, Triumph, and Overdrive series.
Meeting the challenges of the event is not the only way to celebrate the occasion. Check out the Item Shop for the free Short Fuse Player Banner (available now) and the Shen Avatar Border on February 22. onset for a limited time.
It wouldn’t be an in-game event without limited-time modes, and Lucky Lanterns brings two: Heatseeker and Super Cube! Heatseeker is ready for launch and is live right now, so jump in and enjoy the return of this mode where the ball automatically searches for the net. Then, Super Cube bounces back into the mix on February 22.
Super Cube is a wacky mode that changes the shape of the Rocket league ball and its speed. As the name suggests, the ball has been replaced with a cube shape, and its maximum speed and bounce has increased. Good luck trying to predict his rebounds! Here is the full schedule of Lucky Lanterns:
- Heatseeker 2v2: February 11 – February 22
- Super Cube 3v3: February 22 – March 1
