Luka Doncic’s autograph rookie card sells for $ 4.6 million; sets a record for basketball collection

A one-of-a-kind Luka Doncic card sold this weekend for around the cost of an NBA lottery pick.

The card, a 1: 1 Logoman autograph rookie from the 2018-2019 Panini National Treasures set, was sold for $ 4.6 million in a private sale. This is the highest price paid for a basketball card, by The Action Network, and second overall for a sports card behind a 1952 Mickey Mantle Topps sold for $ 5.2 million.

The buyer is Nick Fiorella. Collector Bolillo Lajan San announced on Instagram on Sunday that he and Fiorella, his “new friend / business partner,” had “finalized” the sale.

Doncic, who turned 22 on Sunday, became an NBA All-Star for the second time in his three-year NBA career earlier this month. He entered Sunday’s game averaging 28.5 points, 8.4 rebounds and 9.0 assists.
