Square Enix and People Can Fly have announced that Outriders has been postponed until April and that a demo including all classes will be available in late February. In a statement posted to the Outriders Twitter account, the development team said, “We have decided to move the Outriders release date to April 1, 2021 (no kidding!). We’ll spend that extra time tweaking. the game and focus on delivering a fantastic gaming experience at launch. ”

Before that, however, what looks like a substantial demo will be available on February 25. The demo will include “the first hours of the game with the four classes” which can be played in single player or cooperative mode. Any progress made with the characters in this demo will be “transparent” in its migration from the demo to the full game, should you wish to purchase it. “We think it’s important for players to be able to experience new intellectual property like Outriders before it’s released,” the statement said. “So that you can decide for yourself if the game is something you want to pre-order, buy or play.”
It’s another delay for the Outriders, who postponed from last October to February 2021, having originally been slated for a holiday 2020 launch. This new date puts several months behind the original plan, but we’re hoping the Outriders launches will be in good shape. The game itself looks like a mix of Diablo and Mass Effect, and our expansive preview coverage highlights some of his fun ideas, such as Technomancer class and the increasing difficulty of its World Tiers.
