Paul Gallen calls out Robert Whittaker

Paul Gallen set his sights on former Australian UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker after maintaining his unbeaten record as a boxer with a the points unanimously prevail over Mark Hunt.

Hunt and Gallen both hit each other hard at Bankwest Stadium, but it was the former NRL star who left the fight the winner after the three judges’ scorecards read 58-56, 58-56 and 59-55 in Gallen.

When asked who was next on the now 10-0-1 fighter roster, Gallen didn’t think twice when he called Whittaker.

Gallen urged Whittaker to stop “pricing himself” as he warns the Australian-New Zealand MMA fighter to step into the ring.

“Rob Whittaker, I looked at you a year ago, you had an interview and you were asked if you were going to beat me, you said ‘yeah, I would fight him but he wouldn’t fight me’, said Gallen after the fight.

“You laughed condescendingly. I am here now and happy to meet you here, but stop walking away.

“I only have respect for him. I know him pretty well but I’ll beat him

“I’m going to beat him like I did with Mark Hunt.

“I’m going to train hard, prepare myself and I’m going to have a good game plan. I’m going to go in there and break it.”
