Next to a leaky rendering Earlier in the week, more information on Samsung’s Galaxy Chromebook 2 found its way online, including pricing details. A marketing slide shared by computer scientist Microsoft WalkingCat suggests the device will feature a 13.3-inch QLED display with a wide DCI-P3 color gamut, a 10th gen Core i3 processor, and somewhere in around 12 hours autonomy. It would also include more powerful speakers, WiFi 6 connectivity, and a slightly heavier frame than its predecessor.

For context, the first Galaxy Chromebook features a 4K AMOLED display and a 14nm 10th generation Intel i5 processor. This combination of components is the main culprit behind the Galaxy Chromebook’s notoriously poor battery life. In his review of the 2020 model, Engadget’s Nathan Ingraham found that he couldn’t even use four hours of Galaxy Chromebook use before his battery died out. The statement in the slide above suggests that Samsung got the battery life memo.
